The founder of a popular Scottish department store has died at the age of 87. Vera Weisfeld founded What Every Woman Wants, which had a branch in Edinburgh, alongside her husband Gerald in 1971.
A spokesperson for her family announced she had passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 4. She was said to have been surrounded by her loved ones at the time.
What Every Woman Wants was known for its flagship store in Glasgow's Argyle Street, but it also had a branch on the capital's South Bridge .
The three-storey building was a shopping destination in the 70s and 80s for affordable but stylish fashion.
