A Birmingham street was closed off for most of the day after a double stabbing during a violent brawl, police have now confirmed.

Two smashed-up cars, including a £200k yellow Urus, were seen in dramatic photos from Summer Lane after an incident this morning, Saturday, December 6.

Police cordoned off the road, which borders Birmingham city centre and Hockley, following what was initially believed to be a crash.

However, West Midlands Police say officers were called to the scene after two men, aged in their 20s, suffered stab wounds.

The victims were both in a serious but stable condition in hospital this evening.

Trouble flared shortly before 5am and ten people - including eight men and two women - have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and wounding.
