Pep Guardiola insists Arsenal will not drop many more points in the Premier League title race after their 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday.
Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League has now been cut to just two points following their loss at Villa Park as Manchester City went on to seal a 3-0 victory at home to Sunderland.
The result is only the second defeat in the Premier League this season for Mikel Arteta’s side and has ended their 18-game unbeaten run.
Speaking after City’s win against Sunderland, Guardiola insists his side will need to be more consistent in order to keep the pressure on Arsenal and conceded that Arteta’s men will not suffer many more slip-ups.
‘Of course it’s better to be closer than further to the top of the league,’ Guardiola said.
