Srinagar records 30 E- FIRs this year so far
Srinagar, Dec 06: A quiet but significant shift is reshaping policing across the Valley. Since the rollout of new criminal laws in Jammu & Kashmir earlier this year, the E-FIR system has emerged as one of the most impactful reforms, offering residents a quicker, safer, and more transparent way to report crimes from home.
A senior police official in Srinagar said the new legal framework has “changed the pace of reporting” in the region. The official noted that the E-FIR facility has reduced delays and made filing complaints more accessible for ordinary citizens.
