A "fit and healthy" baby was found dead in his mother's bed at just eight weeks old, an inquest heard. Otis James Ian Scott died on April 16 2024 at his home in the small village of Llanfihangel Tal-Y-Llyn, Brecon .

Pontypridd Coroners' Court heard that Otis' mum Marie Claire Brute, who is a midwife, awoke in the early hours of the morning and found that Otis wasn't breathing. He was lying next to her in bed. Coroner Rachel Knight said: "Otis was breast fed by his mother the previous evening and they settled into her large bed and went to sleep, together with Otis' older brother.

"When his mother woke up in the early hours, Otis was lying next to her but had sadly died."
