Michael Appleton was pleased by the response shown by his Shrewsbury Town side as they fought back from a goal down to non-league Sutton United to book their place in the third round of the FA Cup with a hard earned 2-1 victory.
Town trailed with 20 minutes to go after Sutton's midfielder Kai Jennings scored directly from a corner kick, but they responded in stoppage time with an Ismeal Kabia screamer to force extra time - which would be played out with both sides reduced to ten men, after Josh Ruffels and then David Ogbonna were given their marching orders.
