By the calendar, hurricane season is over. That does not make it impossible for a tropical storm or hurricane threat. It just says that statistically, it would be rare for either to happen.
If you only look at water temperature, the Atlantic is still warm enough to generate a hurricane, but as the westerly steering winds strengthen over the Atlantic Ocean basin, which includes the Gulf and Caribbean, wind shear increases to make it less likely that something could form and hold together. That’s the cycle of the seasons. Let’s just hope that nothing tropical spins up concerns.
