INDIANAPOLIS — Ryan Conwell smiled from ear to ear as he and his Louisville basketball teammates skipped back to the bench after a 6-0 run that pushed their lead over Indiana back to 19 points with 4:51 to play in regulation. The last four points of that spurt came off turnovers.

Pat Kelsey has harped on it all season: defense, defense, defense — "I want that to be our stinking identity, man," the coach said at ACC Tipoff. His No. 6 Cardinals (8-1) came correct on that end Saturday en route to an 87-78 victory over the No. 19 Hoosiers (7-2) on Saturday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse .
