Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier has opened up about the 'unfortunate' hamstring injury that has ruled him out of the Magpies' last five matches.
Trippier picked up a freak injury while taking a set piece during training and has missed Premier League matches against Manchester City, Everton, Tottenham and Burnley, as well as the Champions League defeat to Marseille.
The former England international defender insists the injury was 'out of my control' but he is doing all he can to be back fit as quickly as possible in what is a bruising run of fixtures in December for Newcastle.
"On a personal note, my recovery from injury is going well," Trippier told the matchday programme ahead of the Burnley game. Watch
