A nearly day-long standoff in Osceola County ended late Friday night when sheriff’s deputies fatally shot a suspect after he fired his weapon following negotiations, according to a report from WESH 2 News.

At approximately 10:40 a.m. on Friday, deputies responded Osceola County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to investigate a domestic battery incident that occurred overnight at the Jamison Apartments, the report said. The 30-year-old suspect locked himself inside of his apartment when deputies attempted to contact him.

The suspect subsequently began broadcasting live on Facebook, making suicidal remarks and displaying a handgun, the report said. Hostage negotiators and family members attempted to convince the man to surrender.
