It’s a dynasty.

With a late fourth down conversion run from quarterback Will Wood, Xaverian football defeated St. John’s Prep in the Division I state championship at Gillette Stadium on Saturday.

The championship victory is the Hawks’ third in a row.

Wood finished the game 11-for-16 for 345 yards and five touchdowns through the air. The passing yards mark is the most in a state championship/Super Bowl since Billerica’s Chris Doneski threw for 338 yards in a sectional title game against Newton North in 1999.

Xaverian started on the front foot, getting two long receiving touchdowns from Christian McIntyre to go into halftime ahead by 20.

The Eagles, led by quarterback Chris Vargas, mounted a comeback, but it fell short.
