Chandigarh, December 7, 2025:

In the case related to the disappearance of 328 sacred saroops between 2015 and 2018, the police have taken major action. An FIR has been registered under sections relating to sacrilege and other IPC provisions against the then office-bearers of the Shiromani Committee, including the then Secretary Roop Singh. A total of 16 individuals ( mostly Employees of SGPC) have been named in the FIR. The case has been registered under various IPC sections — 295, 295-A, 409, 465, and 120-B. This raises the question of how IPC sections can still be applied at this stage.
