Tulane will get a rematch with Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi in the first-ever College Football Playoff appearance for both teams.
As expected, the Green Wave (11-2) received a No. 11 seed in the 12-team playoff--causing a loud roar from players at the Glazer Family Center connected to Yulman Stadium—and Ole Miss (12-1) remained No. 6 in the final rankings released Saturday morning. Tulane earned its spot by beating North Texas 34-21 on Friday night in the American Conference championship game at Yulman Stadium, qualifying as the fourth-highest-rated conference champion in the CFP rankings. Sun Belt champion James Madison got the last spot and will travel to No. 5 seed Oregon as the No. 12 seed.
The winner of Tulane-Ole Miss will No. 3 Georgia (12-1) in a quarterfinal on either Dec.
