Martin Lewis has drawn attention to a payment regulation that he describes as "really important for people to understand". The Money Saving Expert founder discussed the various types of regular payments one can establish, noting that a particular method provides considerably enhanced protection in comparison to alternatives.

During a recent instalment of his BBC podcast, the finance expert outlined the significant distinctions between recurring payments and direct debits. Mr Lewis noted that direct debits are accompanied by "powerful protections" which account holders ought to be aware of.
