The only helicopters you’d normally expect to find at London’s Masonville mall during the height of holiday shopping season are the toy-sized kind you might buy in one of its stores.

But a real one, pilot-operated and making plenty of noise, was at the north-end shopping centre early Saturday to handle the heavy lifting of a major project – removing and replacing its heating and air-conditioning system.

As of about 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, the helicopter was already hovering above the mall’s northwest parking lot. In a cordoned-off area on the ground, two parked flatbed trucks held large components of the HVAC system and about 10 workers helped strap the equipment to a rope dangling from the chopper.
