A Merseyside pub has made a promise to its customers after making an "extremely" disappointing announcement. The Blue Anchor, found in Aintree , has been hosting its Family Winter Wonderland experience this weekend.

Found on School Lane, the event includes a Santa’s grotto , fairground rides, pluck-a-duck, swing chairs and a penalty shoot-out. Entry for the event cost £10 per child, and this gave families “unlimited rides and fun”.

The event ran as planned on Saturday, December 6. However, today, the pub said it had no other choice but to cancel the event.
