Former Rangers star Dean Shiels is in the running to take over as Morton boss.
The Northern Irishman - whose dad Kenny had a six month stint as Cappielow gaffer - will be interviewed by Greenock chiefs this week as they step up their hunt for Dougie Imrie’s replacement.
The ex- Northern Ireland international moved into management in 2021, saving NIFL minnows Dungannon Swifts from relegation and establishing them as a top flight club.
He made the move to Coleraine last year and was looking to lead the club into Europe after a fifth place finish - only to part ways just days before a crucial Euro play-off clash.
But now the 40-year-old is looking to kick start his coaching career back in Scotland, where he also played with Hibs , Kilmarnock and Dunfermline.
