JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Two men are accused of smuggling drugs into the Jessamine County Detention Center.

Jessamine County Jailer Jon Sallee says on Friday, deputies opened an investigation into two inmates, Steven Binkley and Paul Jackson.

The two had recently been booked into the detention center. Sallee says that narcotics were found on the men when they were searched during intake.

Both have been charged with promoting contraband, and Jackson has an additional charge of tampering with evidence.

“Any attempt to introduce illegal substances or prohibited items into our facility will be fully investigated,” Salle said in a Facebook post. “Charges will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.”
