FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A holiday celebration on Fort Wayne’s north side Sunday brought cheer to local children with cancer.
North Side High School held its 38th annual ‘Christmas Party for Kids Surviving Cancer’.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., children and their families were joined by students and staff at the school to enjoy food, games, performances, and more. Santa Claus also made a visit.
The event is held in partnership between the school’s students and staff and the Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
Organizers say student groups ‘adopt’ each family, selecting and wrapping presents for every child. They are also responsible for raising money and donations for the event.
This year, 56 children from 17 families attended.
