Phoenix Reisen donated 1.2 million euros at the annual ZDF Charity Gala which took place this past week in Germany.

The funds will go to support the Christian organizations Misereor and Brot für die Welt . Misereor is committed to fighting poverty in Africa, Asia and Latin America, while Brot für die Welt’s mission statement is to enable disadvantage people in more than 80 countries to sustainably improve their living conditions through their own efforts.

Johannes Zurnieden, founder and managing director of Phoenix Reisen has played a key role in the fundraising efforts of ZDF gala for many years.

Zurnieden and Carmen Nebel, a well-known German TV presenter, who has hosted the event in the past, appealed together to the audience for further donations for the two aid organizations.
