BBC audiences enjoyed an Antiques Roadshow special this evening (December 7), with the programme focusing on the heritage of food and historical culinary implements. ‌

Featured treasures included Mary Berry's vintage potato slicer, a ravioli cutter from Michelangelo's era and an 1800s sugar bowl carrying an anti-slavery statement. ‌

Yet one particular piece captured the attention of antiques specialist John Foster. In tonight's repeat broadcast, the widow of a late corkscrew collector presented an extraordinary piece from her husband's collection, reports the Express . ‌

Speaking with John in Colchester, she revealed: "My husband Charles got it about 10 years ago and it's made from old London Bridge."
