COLUMBUS, Ohio — Pickerington Community Theatre kicked off the holiday season Friday with their take on the beloved musical classic “White Christmas” by Irving Berlin.
Based on the 1954 Michael Curtiz film starring Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen, the stage adaptation first opened in St. Louis in 2000 before making its way to Broadway in 2008.
On the stage, “White Christmas” follows the same basic story as the film and features many of the musical numbers film fans will expect like “Sisters,” “Count Your Blessings” and, of course, “White Christmas.” But the live show has added such Berlin’s classics as “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano” and “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm,” many of which have been turned into big dance numbers by PCT’s pair of co-choreographers.
