Top-seeded North Dakota State lined up for a fourth-and-7, trailing 29-28 to unseeded Illinois State in the final seconds of Saturday’s second-round FCS playoff game at the Fargodome.

At almost the exact same moment 750 miles to the west, second-seeded Montana State faced a fourth-and-3, clinging to a 14-6 lead over unseeded Yale around the 11-minute mark of the fourth quarter in a second-round game at Bobcat Stadium.
