Daniel Jones had his day cut short by an injury considered to be an athlete’s nightmate.

The Indianapolis Colts quarterback sustained an Achilles injury against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. He went down without contact on a throw and was ruled out of the game shortly after.

Jones fell to the ground right after the ball left his hand and was attended to by trainers before it was revealed that he was done for the day. He’s also set to sit out the rest of the season and could miss the start of 2026, given the gravity of the injury.

A former first-round pick, Jones flamed out in New York before a stint with the Minnesota Vikings. He resurrected his career in Indianapolis, helping the team to an 8-4 record. Sadly, this is as far as his comeback arc goes.
