OPELIKA, Ala. (WTVM) - Pastor Jeff Meyers of FBCO Church died Thursday night, according to a church announcement Friday.

The church announced Meyers’ death in a letter to the congregation on Friday morning. Church staff and deacons said Meyers “served our church with unwavering devotion, compassion, and humility.”

“His love for God and for people was evident in every sermon he preached, every prayer he prayed, and every conversation he shared,” the announcement said.

The church asked for prayers for Meyers’ family and requested privacy during their grieving process.

Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 11, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Worship Center.
