SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - The Notre Dame hockey team took a few hours out of their one day off this week to help the Ronald McDonald House.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana provides a place for families to stay when their sick or injured children are in the hospital.

They house up to 20 families at a time and see up to about 400 families a year.

But around this time of the year, household supplies and nonperishable foods get low.

That’s where their annual Stocking the House donation event comes in.

In their second year, they partnered with the Notre Dame Hockey team, who helped them collect drive-up donations, bake food, and clean up areas of the house.

“We try to do as much as we can and honestly, it’s probably more of a joy for us,” said Notre Dame Hockey team Defenseman
