The Pittsburgh Penguins will be without one of their top players Sunday vs the Dallas Stars.
The Penguins announced that forward Evgeni Malkin is day-to-day with an upper-body injury. No further details were provided, and nothing indicated what caused the injury.
Through 26 games this season, he’s produced eight goals and 21 assists while being a key driver for the Pens’ offence. Malkin leads the team in assists and is currently tied for points with Crosby.
The Penguins currently sit fourth in the Metropolitan. A win on Sunday will have them tied for points with the New York Islanders.
Pittsburgh’s currently on a western road trip, and Malkin will be evaluated before they take on the Ducks on Tuesday.
