SOUTH HEART, N.D. — South Heart Eagles head coach Sara Jo Gieseke calls Arica Hodell “The Conductor” of the defense. In South Heart’s dominant 62-28 win over the Ray Jays, in a Saturday afternoon showdown at South Heart High School, the junior forward lived up to her name.
“Our coach talks a lot about how our defense feeds offense,” Hodell said. “So I really try to start focusing on defense and then it helps feed our offense for the rest of the game.”
But Hodell wasn’t just a force on defense, where she led the team with five rebounds and four steals, she made a huge impact on offense — putting up 11 points which was best for second on the team.
