ORLANDO — Jeff Kent, the all-time home-run leader for second basemen, was elected to the Hall of Fame on Sunday evening by the Contemporary Baseball Era Committee.

Kent, who played briefly with the Indians in 1996, will be inducted with the Class of 2026 in Cooperstown.
