One year into a shaky ceasefire between Israel and the militant group Hezbollah, people are trickling back to communities along the Israel-Lebanon border and struggling to rebuild.
When war broke out here in October 2023, border communities became ghost towns.
Towns in southern Lebanon were reduced to rubble.
Many who have returned to northern Israel found their homes and businesses destroyed.
Officials say the majority of residents are back.
But some towns that were at the conflict's center remain half-empty.
Some are reluctant to return as Israel steps up attacks.
Israel says it's targeting Hezbollah's efforts to rearm.
Hezbollah says it won't disarm until Israel withdraws.
As tensions simmer, residents say their future is uncertain.
