Kochi, Dec 8 (UNI) In a major strike against narcotics trafficking, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Cochin Zonal Unit, has dismantled an inter-state drug syndicate and seized hydroponic weed worth nearly ₹7 crore during a coordinated, multi-location operation.
Based on precise intelligence, DRI teams executed simultaneous interceptions at Delhi Airport, Cochin Airport, and multiple locations across Kochi.
Two passengers—one each at the two airports—were detained, leading to the recovery of 7 kg of premium-grade hydroponic cannabis reportedly sourced from Thailand.
Officials said the contraband is valued at around ₹7 crore in the international illicit market.
Following the airport interceptions, the DRI intensified searches in Kochi.
