In a landmark judgement in one of Kerala’s most closely watched cases, the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court on Monday acquitted actor Dileep (P Gopalakrishnan) while convicting six of the accused, including prime accused Pulsar Suni, in the 2017 actress assault case that shook the Malayalam film industry.
Principal Sessions Judge Honey M Varghese found N S Sunil alias Pulsar Suni, Martin Antony, B Manikandan, V P Vijeesh, H Salim (Vadival Salim) and Pradeep guilty of abducting and sexually assaulting the actress in February 2017. The court said the prosecution had successfully established their direct involvement in the crime. The quantum of sentence will be pronounced on Friday, December 12, 2025.
However, the court held that the prosecution had failed to prove the criminal conspiracy
