NEW ORLEANS —
Although the Algiers Bonfire was originally postponed because of the weather, the changes did not stop hundreds of people from coming out in their holiday cheer.
Families gathered along the levee for a warm but spirited tradition watching this 30-foot sculpture ignite, lighting up Algiers Point and everyone's faces.
It's a neighborhood staple for many during the holidays, embracing the community with live music performances from local artists and food from nearby restaurants. Advertisement
Organizers and neighbors say they are looking forward to the event next year.
