A man was shot in the neck and killed in the 7th Ward late Saturday night, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Gunfire was reported to police at 10:48 p.m. in the 1800 block of Old Roman Street, where officers found the man wounded inside a house. Paramedics rushed him to a local hospital, where he later died, police said.

Police did not immediately release more information. The investigation is ongoing.
