Cruz Davis scored a career-high 36 points and added seven assists, fueling Hofstra to an 80-73 upset of host Pitt on Sunday.
Davis surpassed his previous career high of 28 points, set twice last season.
Davis scored 19 points as Hofstra raced out to a 36-23 halftime lead before he helped stem a late rally as the Pride (6-4), who were picked to finish eighth in the 13-team Coastal Athletic Association, beat an ACC team for the first time since an 82-77 win over Florida State on Nov. 20, 2015.
Victory Onuetu had 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting for the Pride, who've earned four wins over power-conference opponents under fifth-year head coach Speedy Claxton. German Plotnikov and Preston Edmead each added eight points.
Brandin Cummings scored 30 of his career-high 34 points in the second half
