GREEN BAY — Micah Parsons might be new to the Green Bay Packers-Chicago Bears rivalry, but something Parsons said at midweek in advance of Sunday’s showdown for first place in the NFC North was directly on point.

“You know, rivalries are for the people,” the Packers star edge rusher opined. “They’re for the fans.”

Not anymore.

By the time the Packers’ 28-21 victory over the Bears at Lambeau Field Sunday evening was over, it was obvious: There’s clear animus now — between the players, between the head coaches — that may not be to Forrest Gregg-Mike Ditka levels of out-and-out hatred, but is undeniably palpable.

As is the fact that the talent gap — between the rosters, between the starting quarterbacks — is narrowing.
