Immigration authorities at the Songwe Border Post have arrested two Nepalese nationals for illegally entering Malawi on December 6, 2025.
According to a statement from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship Services, the suspects Prakash Bahadur Saru, 23, and Roshan Chidi, 24 were found in possession of fake visa approval letters when officers stopped them for inspection.
The two reportedly bypassed official entry procedures and were intercepted about three kilometres inside Malawi during a routine foot patrol.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects intended to travel to Lilongwe by seeking lifts from passing motorists. Authorities say the motive behind their entry into the country is still being probed.
