JAMMU, Dec 8: Two persons, including a woman, sustained injuries after being attacked by a wild bear in two separate incidents in the Kashtigarh area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Monday, officials said.

Officials identified the injured as Rubina and Muneer. Both were rescued by locals, who rushed to the spots and managed to drive the bear back into the forest. The victims were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment.

The incidents have triggered concern among villagers, who have urged the wildlife department to initiate effective measures to prevent further attacks. (Agencies)
