Ohioans with vehicles will have to spend more money starting next year.

Also in January, title fees will jump from $15 to $18. County commissioners can increase that to $23, but only if they give the additional funding to clerks' offices that process titles.

State lawmakers voted to increase several fees at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in the two-year state budget .

A BMV spokesperson said the agency provided a grace period for registrations around that time. About 0.5% of applications were rejected because people weren't aware of the updated fee.
