CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Manny Diaz had a different type of task for his Duke football team following its Week 12 loss to Virginia.
The Blue Devils dropped their home contest to the Cavaliers, 34-17, a game in which Diaz has since called their poorest of the season. It marked the second-straight loss for Duke after falling to UConn on the road in Week 11.
So Diaz gave each player on his team a notecard to write down something they felt could have done better with simple instructions for afterwards: burn it.
Different things came to mind for each player. For senior captain Aaron Hall, it was to "play the run better, be a better leader to the team."
Fellow team captain Wesley Williams had a similar focus.
