The Opposition on Monday (December 8, 2025) demanded in the Lok Sabha that the government inform the country about its steps to address the widespread IndiGo flight disruptions and the resulting inconvenience at various airports, a crisis that Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav also used to hit out at the Centre, alleging a failure to ensure affordable air travel amid soaring airfares.

Meanwhile, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu addressed the ongoing issues in the Rajya Sabha, stating that the passenger inconvenience was linked to IndiGo’s internal crew rostering and operational planning, not the Aircraft Maintenance and Scheduling System (AMSS).
