CLEVELAND, Ohio – On the first day of Christmas my true love said to me: I should have applied for a loan.
Because that’s what it’s going to take to buy our version of the 12 Days of Christmas.
The 12 days of Christmas run from Dec. 25 to Jan. 5. Its origins date to a French song published in an English children’s book in 1780. Supposed Christian symbolism or use by persecuted Catholics within its lyrics has been debunked . But the cumulative song lives, having been recorded by the likes of Bing Crosby and Mitch Miller to Straight No Chaser and Pheelz.
We took a few liberties as you’ll see, and kept our list mostly Cleveland-centric.
Happy shopping and happy holidays!
