Civil bodies opposing illegal immigration in Arunachal Pradesh have announced their decision to go ahead with the first Phase of a 12-hour Capital Bandh on December 9, from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Three organizations including the Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organization, the All Naharlagun Youth Organization and Indigenous Youth Force of Arunachal have announced the Capital Bandh.

APIYO President Taro Sonam Liyak said that their issues have been raised since 6 October, but no action has been taken by the government.

They added that a meeting promised by the government on December 5 but it did not take place. Earlier a bandh planned for November
