WASHINGTON — Ten people are without a place to live as a blast of Arctic air arrives in the D.C. area. Firefighters are still searching for the cause of the blaze Monday morning.

According to a spokesperson for DC Fire and EMS, crews were first called to the 3600 block of New Hampshire Avenue Northwest for a report of a fire around 11 p.m. Sunday night. The apartment is not far from the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro station.

When crews arrived on scene, they found flames and smoke shooting from the top floor and roof of the building. Video posted by the fire department on X, formerly Twitter, shows what conditions looked like when firefighters arrived.

Crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames and get everyone inside to safety. No injuries were reported, according to the fire departm
