ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Georgia is on its way to possibly capture another national championship as the Bulldogs have clinched a spot in the 2026 College Football Playoff.

UGA was announced as the No. 3 seed Sunday, earning a first-round bye and a spot in the Allstate Sugar Bowl quarterfinal in New Orleans on Jan. 1, 2026. Georgia will face the winner of the first-round game between Tulane and Ole Miss in the quarterfinal.

If the Bulldogs win the Sugar Bowl, they move on to play in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Jan. 8, 2026.

The Bulldogs go into the CFP after defeating Alabama 28-7 in the Southeastern Conference title game in Atlanta Saturday.
