Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. (TASL) and Lockheed Martin on Monday announced scaling up their partnership to establish a new defence Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility that will support the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) C-130J Super Hercules fleet of tactical airlifter.
The project marks a major expansion of the companies’ long-standing industrial partnership and is expected to significantly strengthen India’s in-country sustainment capabilities, while also opening doors for regional and global C-130 support.
The IAF currently operates 12 C-130J tactical airlifters, used widely for strategic transport, special operations and humanitarian missions.
