Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a possible road rage shooting that forced the closure of a busy stretch of Highway 401 overnight.
The incident occurred between 1:30 and 1:40 a.m. on Monday, on the westbound lanes of Highway 401 between Guelph Line and Highway 6 South.
According to the OPP Highway Safety Division, two vehicles were involved: a dark sedan believed to be the suspect vehicle and a red Hyundai carrying two occupants. Investigators say bullet holes were found on the driver’s side of the Hyundai. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Police closed the westbound lanes of Highway 401 in the area to allow for a full investigation. The closure is expected to remain in place until 7 a.m. on Monday.
