Wallace And Gromit creator Nick Park says Aardman Animations will "embrace" artificial intelligence (AI) whilst remaining "very cautious not to lose our values".
This comes as entertainment trade union Equity conducts an indicative industrial action ballot for its members in film and television regarding AI protections, following mounting industry concerns, including actors' fears about their voice and appearance being duplicated.
AI technologies capable of enhancing visuals or creating synthetic voices are becoming increasingly common, yet Aardman persists with its traditional stop-motion and clay animation methods to craft its productions, which have featured Shaun The Sheep Movie, Flushed Away and Chicken Run.
