Kochi: Following his acquittal in the actress assault case, actor Dileep publicly expressed gratitude to his legal team, first thanking senior advocate B Raman Pillai and his colleagues for leading the defence. Moments after exiting the courtroom, Dileep headed straight to Raman Pillai's home, thanked him and touched his feet in an emotional gesture.

Speaking to reporters, Raman Pillai said the verdict aligned with “truth, justice and fairness”, adding that he had expected a fair outcome. The lawyer repeated his longstanding allegation that a conspiracy was orchestrated against Dileep, claiming that a high-ranking police officer drove the case against the actor.
