ERWINVILLE, La. (WAFB) - The West Baton Rouge Fire Department says two pets were killed in a fire that fully engulfed a mobile home on Sunday morning, Dec. 7.

Firefighters say they responded to the scene on Erwin Drive shortly before 3 a.m. after receiving a call from a neighbor that a mobile home was fully involved in flames. Upon arrival, crews quickly began working to control fire.

According to officials, the occupants of the home were not there at the time of the fire, but their two pets died at the scene,.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but electrical malfunction is being evaluated.
